This is an update on the MGH Hazard Alert from August 28th regarding GE PDM Displaying Incorrect ECG Data.
Thank you for all your efforts in swapping out PDMs for the software fix. Over the past two weeks, 364 out of 389 affected PDMs have been checked and fixed. There are 25 remaining PDMs which have not been found, representing 2.5% of our inventory. Biomedical Engineering will continue to apply the software fix to the remaining affected devices when they are due for annual maintenance.
No incidents have been reported due to the recall on the PDM issue and the affected PDMs had been in circulation for one year before the recall was issued. If you suspect there are issues with the PDMs related to the recall, please sequester them and submit a safety report.
